Chocolate-Cherry Dump Cake
Here's a recipe that is sure to have them coming back for more. Easy to prepare when camp or outdoor cooking, this Dutch oven desert makes a great snack near the end of the day, especially on cool nights.
Ingredients:
1 18oz box chocolate cake mix
1 20oz can cherry pie filling
1 can Cola
Directions:
Start preparing this dump cake by lining your 12" Dutch oven with aluminum foil. Pour the chocolate cake mix into the Dutch oven and stir in the cola to make a batter. Spread out the batter evenly then pour the contents of the can of cherries into the center of the batter. Cover the dutch oven then bake at 350° for about 45 minutes or until a toothpick can be inserted into the mix and pulled out clean.
Use 24 charcoal briquettes for the outdoor cooking of this recipe with charcoal as your fuel. Place 15 lit briquettes on top and 9 underneath your Dutch oven. You may need more coals in windy or cold weather.
After serving simply remove annd discard the foil. Wipe out the oven and put it away. That's all there is to it.
