Quick Peach Cobbler

 

Quick and easy, this Dutch oven dessert has long been a kid's favorite. Its a warming desert on a cold night and great served with vanilla ice cream in the summer. Whether cooked at home or at camp, this treat will leave your kids smiling ear to ear!

Prep time: 15 Minutes, Cook time: 45 Minutes

Ingredients:

1 18oz box spice cake mix
1 20oz can peaches
1 stick butter

Directions:

Start preparing this Dutch oven recipe by emptying the contents of the canned peaches, fruit and syrup, into a 12" Dutch oven. Evenly spread the spice cake mix over the peaches. Slice the butter into 1/8" pats and evenly place them over the top of the cake mix. Cover the Dutch oven and bake at 350° for about 45 minutes.

Use 24 charcoal briquettes for the outdoor cooking of this recipe with charcoal as your fuel. Place 15 lit briquettes on top and 6 underneath your Dutch oven. You may need more coals in windy or cold weather.

Serves 6 - 8
